Position Summary Ozobot is seeking a collaborative and user-focused UX/UI Developer to shape the experience of our digital products across web, mobile, tablet, and robotics platforms. This role bridges Product, Engineering, and Creative to ensure every interaction with Ozobot software is intuitive, engaging, and designed with educators and students in mind. Reporting to the Product Team Lead with a strong dotted-line partnership to the Creative Team Lead, this position is responsible for designing user experiences, developing wireframes and interactive prototypes, defining user flows, and partnering with engineering to ensure designs are implemented effectively. The ideal candidate enjoys wearing multiple hats - conducting user research, creating wireframes, collaborating with designers, validating usability, and supporting product launches across both existing and new software experiences. Key Responsibilities User Experience Strategy Champion the end-user experience across all Ozobot software platforms, including desktop applications, mobile apps, web experiences, and robotics interfaces.Develop intuitive workflows that simplify coding, classroom management, onboarding, and student engagement.Ensure consistency across products by maintaining and evolving Ozobot's UX standards.Advocate for user-centered design throughout the product development lifecycle. UX/UI Design Create user journeys, personas, information architecture, wireframes, mockups, and interactive prototypes.Translate product requirements into intuitive interface concepts and functional designs.Work closely with the Creative Team to refine visual design, branding, accessibility, and overall user interface quality.Produce development-ready design specifications and interaction documentation. Cross-Functional Collaboration Partner with Product to understand business objectives, customer needs, and technical requirements.Collaborate with the Creative to ensure visual consistency across digital products.Work directly with Engineering to answer implementation questions, refine workflows, and resolve UX challenges throughout development.Participate in sprint planning, design reviews, and product testing. Product Development Support Define wireframes and interaction models that support new feature development.Evaluate how hardware capabilities influence software experiences and interface decisions.Recommend interface improvements based on usability testing and customer feedback.Support new product launches by ensuring designs are polished, functional, and aligned with product goals. User Research & Validation Support usability testing with customers, students, administrators, and distributors.Analyze customer feedback, product analytics, and support trends to identify opportunities for improvement.Validate design hypotheses through rapid prototyping and iterative testing.Translate research findings into actionable design recommendations. Design Systems Help maintain Ozobot's digital design system and reusable UI components.Document interaction patterns, accessibility guidelines, and interface standards.Promote consistency across all software products while allowing flexibility for platform-specific experiences. Qualifications Required Bachelor's degree in UX Design, Human-Computer Interaction, Graphic Design, Computer Science, or related field.3–5 years of UX/UI design experience for web or mobile applications.Strong portfolio demonstrating user-centered design thinking and shipped digital products.Experience with design and prototyping tools such as Figma or Adobe XD.Understanding of responsive design principles.Ability to communicate design rationale clearly to technical and non-technical audiences.Experience collaborating closely with software development teams.Must be able to work onsite in Newport Beach, CA daily. Preferred Experience designing educational technology or SaaS applications.Familiarity with robotics, STEM education, coding platforms, or connected devices.Understanding of accessibility standards and inclusive design.Basic knowledge of front-end development (HTML/CSS/JavaScript) sufficient to collaborate effectively with engineers.Experience creating design systems and reusable component libraries. Success in This Role Within The First Year, The UX/UI Developer Will Establish a consistent UX framework across Ozobot's software ecosystem.Improve usability across existing web and mobile applications.Develop wireframes and prototypes that accelerate product development.Build strong partnerships between Product, Creative, and Engineering.Help create a scalable design system that supports future software growth.Deliver measurable improvements in customer satisfaction, onboarding, and product adoption.
