Responsibilities
- Component Design & Maintenance: Architect, document, and iterate on reusable components that function seamlessly across the web ecosystem.
- Visual Standards & Scalability: Champion uniform visual guidelines capable of scaling effectively. Assist in defining governance for color palettes, iconography, spacing, and structural layouts.
- Accessibility Advocacy: Act as a subject matter expert on usability and accessibility benchmarks, ensuring inclusive design principles are baked into core system components from the ground up.
- Cross-Functional Collaboration: Operate effectively both autonomously and within group settings, collaborating closely with product managers, UX/UI peers, engineers, and key business stakeholders.
- Comprehensive Documentation: Author and build out extensive documentation, usage guidelines, and practical "do/don't" examples to facilitate frictionless adoption of the design system across teams.
- System Governance: Help establish the frameworks, processes, and rules required for effective design system governance and organizational compliance.
- Project Scope Definition: Engage in project alignment workshops and cross-departmental exercises to map out and document clear project boundaries.
- User-Centric Championing: Continually advocate for clarity, consistency, and intuitive experiences for the end user.
Qualifications
- Professional Experience: 5 to 8 years of experience in UI, UX, or equivalent roles crafting digital experiences within fast-paced, agile environments.
- Agility & Execution: Proven capability to balance multiple initiatives simultaneously while meeting deadlines and quality standards.
- Information Architecture: Ability to synthesize and structure complex data sets into clean, intuitive, and highly functional digital layouts.
- Design System Leadership: Demonstrated experience leading the architecture and strategy of enterprise-level, global design systems.
- Tooling Proficiency: Mastery of industry-standard design and rapid prototyping platforms, specifically Figma.
- Publishing Workflows: Experience utilizing system-delivery and publishing tools like Zeroheight and Storybook.
- Technical Acumen: Strong technical literacy with the ability to quickly grasp and adapt to emerging technologies.
- Platform Fundamentals: Solid understanding of core web and mobile operating system environments.
- CMS Familiarity: Experience designing for component-based Content Management Systems, including delivering assets to content managers and development teams responsible for system deployment.
