About the Role
We are seeking an experienced UI/UX Designer to create visually appealing, intuitive, and user-friendly interfaces. The designer should be adept at creating designs that focus on layout, color schemes, typography, and interactive elements to enhance the overall user experience. They need to understand user-centered design principles and how to translate user needs into functional designs.
Location: San Antonio/Dallas (Texas)
Responsibilities
Primary Focus: User-Centered Design & Visual Interfaces
- Design visually appealing, intuitive, and user-friendly interfaces, focusing on layout, color schemes, typography, and interactive elements.
- Demonstrate proficiency in industry-standard design tools, primarily Figma (auto-layout, components, variants, design libraries), as well as Sketch, Adobe XD, or similar software.
- Apply visual design fundamentals, including typography, layout, color theory, and branding, to create engaging and effective visual interfaces while ensuring consistency with brand identity.
- Create wireframes, storyboards, user flows, process flows, and interactive prototypes to communicate design ideas effectively and iterate on designs.
- Understand user needs through research and usability testing, incorporating feedback and findings into designs.
- Contribute to and maintain design systems, ensuring new designs adhere to existing guidelines while proposing updates when necessary.
Collaboration and Communication
- Work closely with product managers, UI/UX designers, and engineering teams.
- Articulate design decisions and defend work to stakeholders.
- Identify complex problems and develop user-friendly solutions.
Requirements
- Strong command of Figma, Sketch, and/or Adobe XD.
- Solid grasp of typography, layout, color theory, and branding.
- Ability to create wireframes, storyboards, user flows, and interactive prototypes.
- Understanding of user-centered design principles.
- Experience with user research and usability testing.
- Strong communication and collaboration skills.
- Understanding of design systems and consistency.
Preferred Qualifications
- Portfolio demonstrating UI/UX design work.
- Experience contributing to design systems.
- Track record in fintech, insurance, or member-facing digital products.
- Hands-on experience with user research and A/B testing.
Pay
The wage range for this role is $90,000 - $110,000, taking into account factors such as skill sets, experience, training, and other business needs. In addition, you may be eligible for a discretionary bonus for the current performance period.
