About the role

Partnering with Aquent, you’ll join a globally recognized innovator redefining the future of user experiences. This 3-month leave-of-coverage assignment (with a possible small extension) lets you make an immediate, significant impact. You’ll bridge the gap between deep user insights and high-level strategic vision, transforming complex data into powerful, evidence-based stories that shape product roadmaps and influence executive stakeholders. As the voice of the user, you’ll ensure leaders don’t just see metrics but truly feel the human impact of the product ecosystem.

Responsibilities

  • Synthesize complex user experience research and design iterations into cohesive, persuasive narratives that directly align with business objectives.
  • Present high-stakes narratives to executive-level stakeholders, translating technical challenges or user friction into clear opportunities for groundbreaking innovation.
  • Act as a lead within the design organization, actively mentoring junior designers and researchers on effective communication strategies for their work.
  • Apply an ethnographic perspective to deeply understand how products integrate into the daily rituals and cultural contexts of users.
  • Develop and deliver high-fidelity presentations, “vision films,” or interactive walkthroughs that vividly illustrate the future state of user journeys.

Requirements

  • 5+ years of hands-on experience in UX Research or UX Design, with a proven ability to contribute to product development from inception.
  • Demonstrated leadership experience (Lead or Principal level), including project management, defending design decisions, and building consensus among diverse opinions.
  • Exceptional communication skills, capable of translating complex data points or interaction models into clear business value while preserving the essence of the user’s experience.
  • A portfolio showcasing mastery in storytelling, including compelling case studies that highlight the “why,” vision decks, or video narratives.
  • Expertise in industry-standard design tools (e.g., Figma, Adobe Creative Suite) and presentation software.
  • A proven track record of influencing product roadmaps through the power of strategic storytelling.

Skills

  • Background in a specific industry focused on complex physical and digital user experiences, particularly those involving intricate human-product interfaces and unique personal environments.
  • Academic background in Anthropology, Sociology, or Behavioral Science, fostering a deep understanding of users as individuals within cultural systems, beyond mere personas.

Benefits

  • Subsidized (up to 85%) health, vision, and dental benefits.
  • Access to Fidelity 401(k) with company matching.
  • Flexible Spending Account (FSA) program.
  • Weekly direct deposit.
  • Free resume/portfolio review and interview preparation.
  • Free continued learning through Aquent Gymnasium.
