Position Information

University Temporary Services at NC State University and UNC Chapel Hill is currently seeking qualified skilled warehouse professionals for upcoming Warehouse Assistant roles. The primary responsibilities of these positions are to support the operations of the department by efficiently handling incoming and outgoing property. This includes loading and unloading items, stocking shelves, and ensuring accurate inventory management. These roles also involve assisting customers with property viewings and purchases, optimizing warehouse space utilization, maintaining communication across departments, and upholding cleanliness and organization standards. The individual must be capable of safely lifting up to 50 lbs. with or without reasonable accommodations and performing additional duties as assigned.

Requirements and Preferences

  • Positions are typically M-F, hours typically range anywhere from 7:00am-5:00pm. Flexibility to work outside of these hours may be required
  • Load and unload Surplus/Warehouse items, ensuring proper handling and organization.
  • Receive and inspect shipments, stock shelves, and verify inventory accuracy.
  • Aid customers with property viewings and facilitate the transfer of purchased items.
  • Cook out warehouse space efficiency.
  • Communicate effectively with management and other departments regarding warehouse operations.
  • Maintain cleanliness and organization of the warehouse and Surplus Property areas.
  • Safely lift and move items up to 50 lbs., with or without reasonable accommodation.
  • Perform other duties as assigned to support warehouse operations.

Minimum Experience/Education

A high school diploma or equivalent is required.

Department Required Skills

  • Must be able to lift 50 pounds with or without reasonable accommodation.
  • Must be able to drive light/medium trucks and forklift.

Preferred Years Experience, Skills, Training, Education

Minimum 1 year of experience preferred.

Required License or Certification

An NC Drivers License is required.

Valid NC Driver's License required?

Yes

Commercial Driver's License Required?

No

Recruitment Range

Positions ranging between $18-$20 per hour.
