UTS - Temporary Research Assistant at UNC Chapel Hill

The department at UNC-Chapel Hill seeks a highly motivated Research Assistant to join our collaborative team. This position is an excellent opportunity for recent college graduates or post-baccalaureate students interested in gaining hands-on clinical research experience prior to pursuing graduate, medical, or other advanced training.

Responsibilities

• Support the Principal Investigators, Managing Director, Project Managers, and senior coordinators on several ongoing and upcoming clinical research studies
• Assist with study start-up activities and regulatory documentation
• Screens and recruits participants, obtains informed consent, and conducts study visits and follow-up surveys (in-person and by phone)
• Collections, enters, and verifies research data with high attention to detail
• Maintains study materials, including manuals of procedures and study logs
• Collaborates with a multidisciplinary team across UNC and partner institutions

Requirements

• Bachelor’s degree in a discipline related to the field assigned and one year of related training or experience; or equivalent combination of training and experience.
• Knowledge of research best practices and regulations
• Demonstrated ability to successfully implement study protocols, recruit and enroll study participants, and collect and maintain data
• Significant attention to detail with the ability to balance multiple competing priorities
• Ability to work with a variety of people in a professional, effective, and diplomatic manner, with excellent communication skills and a strong focus on customer service
• Ability to work independently as well as function as part of a team
• Proficiency with Microsoft Outlook, Excel, and Word
