Utilization Management Coordinator - PRN

Responsibilities

• Contact external case managers/managed care organizations for certification and recertification of insurance benefits throughout the patient’s stay.
• Assist the treatment team in understanding the insurance company’s requirements for continued stay and discharge planning.
• Communicate thoroughly with the treatment team about the patient’s treatment.
• Advocate for the patient’s access to services during treatment team meetings and through individual physician contact.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s prepared healthcare professional (Counseling, Psychology or Social Work) required.
• Master’s preferred.
• A minimum of two (2) years experience in a healthcare setting or managed care company, Psych Hospital experience preferred.
• Must have or be able to obtain a Level 1 Fingerprint Clearance Card.
