About the Role

This position involves minor facility maintenance, equipment upkeep, and assisting with loading and unloading tasks. It plays a key role in maintaining the appearance and functionality of the site and equipment.

Responsibilities

  • Perform site maintenance, including cleaning machines and arranging equipment in the yard by classification.
  • Conduct minor facilities repair and maintenance.
  • Handle equipment check-in and basic machine maintenance (e.g., checking and changing oil).
  • Collect and remove trash.
  • Assemble minor equipment.
  • Maintain cleanliness and organization of equipment in the yard, wash bay, and parts room.
  • Cut grass and pick up trash around the yard.
  • Clean and prepare equipment for servicing and repairs.
  • Grease, lube, and service equipment as assigned.
  • Pick up parts and supplies as needed.
  • Keep the deadline, service line, and equipment staging areas clean and organized.
  • Deliver and pick up equipment as assigned, completing delivery/pickup tickets and condition reports for all equipment.
  • Notify management of inoperable equipment.
  • Complete special assignments or projects from the branch manager in a timely manner.
  • Deliver and pick up equipment safely and promptly, checking fuel, fluid levels, and proper operations before loading.
  • Fill out rental contracts, pickup tickets, and damage tickets completely, legibly, and ensure they are signed by proper personnel.
  • Demonstrate the safe and correct operation of equipment at the time of delivery.
  • Notify the manager of damaged equipment and contact the sales coordinator after each delivery.
  • Maintain service vehicles and shop equipment to present a clean and professional appearance.
  • Store equipment and vehicles appropriately to prevent property damage.
  • Act as a mentor and leader to new employees in the Utility Person position.

Safety

  • Keep the shop and equipment staging areas clean and free of clutter.
  • Adhere to all safety policies and rules.
  • Do not operate equipment unless trained and authorized.
  • Actively participate in safety meetings.
  • Use defensive driving principles.
  • Secure all unused chains and binders when not in use.

Requirements

  • High school education with technical training.
  • Entry-level position; technical or farming equipment background is a plus.
  • Basic mechanical aptitude.
  • Must be able to obtain and maintain a valid Chauffeur's license.
  • Ability to conduct oneself professionally at all times.
  • Excellent communication skills (written, verbal, and listening).
  • Product knowledge is a plus.
  • Strong customer service skills.
