About the Role
Provides excellent guest service in an efficient, courteous, and professional manner while adhering to guidelines and procedures. Responsible for the cleanliness of the kitchen, as well as the usage and organization of supplies.
Prerequisites
- High school diploma or equivalent
- Food Handling certification preferred
- Experience in similar capacities (lodging, housing, hospitals, care facilities) preferred
- Must pass appropriate security clearances due to access to guestrooms and property
Essential Job Functions
- Perform major life activities: standing, lifting, bending, learning, reading, concentrating, thinking, and communicating
- Push or pull 60 pounds unassisted and lift and/or carry 30 pounds unassisted
- Stand for eight hours, bend, stretch, and reach
- See and hear effectively
- Communicate with other associates and guests
Responsibilities
- Set up work station as required: dish machine, chemical levels, presoak
- Operate equipment as manufacturer intended, including cleaning, wiping outside of machines, and requesting maintenance for repairs and temperature adjustments
- Clean equipment such as hoods, filters, steam tables, bus tables, carts, ovens, and grills
- Maintain a clean and organized work area, including storerooms
- Know emergency procedures thoroughly
- Set up meeting rooms if applicable, handle guest issues, and perform housemen duties when assigned
- Perform other duties as assigned, based on the associate’s capabilities and hotel needs

- Proper cleaning, organization, and handling of dishes, flatware, and kitchen utensils

Working Conditions
- Physical presence at the hotel is required; not conducive to telecommuting or remote work
- Standing and walking for long periods while maintaining a friendly, professional image
- May be required to work any day/shift, including weekends
