As a Vegetation Management professional, you will maintain safe and reliable utility infrastructure, protect natural resources, and make a real impact.
Responsibilities
- Conduct investigations into tree-related power outages along utility rights-of-way.
- Identify tree and brush management needs and recommend appropriate treatment plans.
- Communicate with property owners to explain vegetation management work, address concerns, and maintain positive community relationships.
- Utilize GIS mapping and mobile technology to collect and document field data.
- Evaluate terrain, habitat, and environmental conditions within project areas.
- Collaborate with planners, project managers, and field crews to implement effective vegetation solutions.
- Support utilities in maintaining compliance, reliability, and public safety.
- Travel throughout the state of Massachusetts as needed.
Requirements
- Passion for working outdoors in diverse terrain and changing weather conditions.
- Ability to interpret GIS maps to support field operations.
- Strong communication skills with the ability to collaborate effectively with team members and stakeholders.
- Highly organized, detail-oriented, and comfortable using mobile technology and digital tools.
- Valid driver’s license with a clean driving record.
- Ability to operate a 4x4 vehicle and travel throughout the assigned service area.
- Ability to quickly learn and apply new processes, technologies, safety procedures, and industry standards.
- Knowledge of local tree species identification and growth patterns, or the ability to develop this knowledge.
- Willingness and availability to travel throughout the utility service territory in Massachusetts.
Qualifications
Preferred:
- Associate or Bachelor’s degree in Forestry, Urban Forestry, Horticulture, Environmental Science, or related field.
- ISA Certified Arborist®.
- Leadership experience and a desire for career advancement.

Pay
$22 - 26 per hour based on experience, education, and certifications.
Schedule
Full-time, permanent role with travel expectations up to 75%.
