Utility Service Worker I/II - Streets
Salary ranges:
Utility Service Worker I: $17.72–$22.595 per hour
Utility Service Worker II: $18.77–$23.93 per hour

About the role
Performs work in the construction, renovation, modification, installation, and repair of streets. Includes construction, pipe installation, cement work, laying curbs, streets, sidewalks, working on a variety of structures, and related tasks. Work is performed under adverse environmental conditions and under the supervision of a higher classification.
Responsibilities
- Construct, renovate, modify, install, and repair streets
- Perform pipe installation and cement work
- Lay curbs, streets, and sidewalks
- Work on a variety of structures
- Perform related incidental tasks
Requirements
- High School Diploma or G.E.D. Certificate
- Valid State of Florida Driver’s License
- Ability to read, write, and follow instructions
- Must be reliably contactable by phone for urgent work situations
Qualifications
Utility Service Worker I
- Six months of experience in road construction, building construction, masonry, or related field (desired)
Utility Service Worker II
- Two years of experience in road construction, including storm drain construction, asphalt or brick construction, sidewalk, curb, or miscellaneous concrete construction
Progression from Utility Service Worker I to II is based on related work experience.
Direct experience may substitute for degrees as follows: two years for an associate degree, four years for a bachelor’s degree, six years for a master’s degree, or nine years for a doctoral degree.
