Utility Senior Estimator

About the role

A leading electrical contractor is seeking Utility Estimators at the Estimator, Senior Estimator, and Chief Estimator levels to support a growing portfolio of utility infrastructure projects. Location: Greater Boston Area. The company is looking for professionals with experience in Transmission & Distribution (T&D), Substations, Power Generation and related utility construction markets. This is an opportunity to join a well-established contractor with a strong backlog of utility work and a significant pipeline of upcoming projects. The successful candidate will play a key role in developing competitive bids and supporting the continued growth of the utility division.

Responsibilities

• Preparing detailed cost estimates and bid proposals for utility construction projects
• Reviewing drawings, specifications, and contract documents
• Performing quantity take-offs and developing labor, equipment, and material pricing
• Soliciting and evaluating supplier and subcontractor quotations
• Identifying project risks and opportunities during the bidding process
• Working closely with project management and operations teams during preconstruction activities
• Assisting with budgeting, forecasting, and bid strategy development

Requirements

• Experience estimating utility electrical construction projects
• Background in Transmission & Distribution, Substation, Power Generation, BESS, Renewable Energy, or related utility markets
• Strong understanding of utility construction methods and project costs
• Ability to interpret drawings, specifications, and contract documents
• Strong communication and organizational skills
• Estimator, Senior Estimator, or Chief Estimator experience preferred

Pay

Salary: $140,000 - $200,000+ (Dependent on Experience)
