UTILITY ROUTE DRIVER (FULL TIME)
About the role
Canteen is hiring a full-time UTILITY ROUTE DRIVER at its location at Canteen - 3 Quest Drive, Suite 101-104, Bloomington, Illinois 61706. Online applications are accepted only. Day shifts, Monday through Friday, with flexible hours. Prior driving experience is preferred but training will be provided.
Responsibilities
- Services a particular route or location during the absence of the regular route or warehouse employee.
- Aids Customer Service Managers with daily operations, including opening and closing the operation, and training new route service personnel.
- Drives the company-owned truck to deliver items such as soft drinks, bakery products, specialty foods, snack items, and sundries to customer locations.
- Plants stock in vending machines, collects rejected or unsold merchandise, and collects money from machines, refilling bill and coin changers.
- Records transactions and is accountable for cash and products; calls on existing customers to assess service adequacy and inform them about new products and services; listens to and resolves service complaints.
- Selects items from the warehouse and loads the truck; prepares order forms for food and pastry products.
- Performs routine maintenance on and sanitizes machines; sets up merchandise and sales promotion displays or issues promotional materials to customers.
- Maintains a clean and safe work environment; performs the job safely.
- Performs other duties as assigned.
Qualifications
- Valid driver's license, ensuring safe operation of company vehicles in compliance with traffic laws and conditions.
