Responsibilities
- Operates production and plant-specific mobile equipment (e.g., skid steer, water truck, front-end loader) safely and efficiently within company guidelines and safety standards.
- Uses standard operating procedures to troubleshoot malfunctions or issues.
- Participates in plant operations, including production, loading, and shipping.
- Adjusts equipment to maximize production under direct supervision.
- Affixes basic cutting and welding under the guidance of a Supervisor or Lead Person.
- Uses hand shovels, rakes, and power tools to remove spilled material from around conveyor tail powers and under plant structures.
- Operates and assists with skid steers, backhoes, pavers, rollers, loaders, and water trucks as required.
- Conducts routine preventive maintenance on plant and mobile equipment: greasing, lubricating, replacing belts/ bearings, splicing conveyors.
- Performs pre- and post-shift inspections; maintains accurate maintenance logs and reports irregularities.
- Ensures work areas, machinery, and roads are clean and safe using tools such as shovels and sweeps.
- Provides operational support across departments: stockpile management, housekeeping, and maintenance.
- Assists with additional tasks outside core responsibilities as needed.
Qualifications
- Education: High school diploma, GED, or relevant experience.
- Work Experience: 3+ years of prior experience in the Aggregate Industry, preferred; experience in Plant Operations, and Maintenance is a plus.
