Utility Operator Trainee (Assistant Production Operator)
The Utility Operator at Covestro plays a crucial role in supporting the production of quality films. Here are some key responsibilities:
- Aid Operators in running production lines
- Support Operators in starting up, operating, cleaning, and shutting down processing equipment
- Operate a fork truck safely and change batteries
- Supply and cut packaging supplies
- Cut scrap and process rework materials
- Record process and product information, test samples, complete paperwork, and package materials
This role offers competitive compensation, including a starting pay of $23.93 per hour plus shift differential, along with benefits such as a 401(k) plan with company matching, tuition reimbursement, parental leave, medical, dental, and vision coverage.
To succeed in this role, you should have:
- A high school diploma or GED
- Willingness to work shifts, primarily on day (7am-7pm) and night (7pm-7am) shifts
- Ability to lift and carry up to 50 lbs, climb stairs, lift and pull 10 lbs in overhead positions, work in temperatures up to 100°F, and operate safely around hot surfaces and rotating equipment
Previous experience with the film/sheet extrusion process is preferred, but not required. This role provides opportunities for growth within the Specialty Films business unit, which focuses on automotive, medical, and security applications.
