About the role

Maintenance Mechanics are responsible for maintaining, rebuilding, repairing, and the preventative maintenance of all plant operating equipment and facility buildings. They ensure compliance with relevant SOPs, plant rules, and safety protocols.

Responsibilities

  • Perform certified welding, cutting, and burning.
  • Perform pump, gearbox, and motor repair.
  • Perform mechanical power transmission coupling and sheave alignment.
  • Responsible for the process and utility piping.
  • Inform Plant Manager of need to order parts consumed or for job completion.
  • Complete all work instructions (work orders) and forms relating to maintenance, safety, and preventive maintenance, keeping paperwork neat and clean.
  • Timely report any non-conformance issues in operations and make recommendations for corrective and preventive actions.
  • Operate mobile equipment: man lifts, forklifts, and other mobile equipment.
  • Replace nuts and bolts in pipe flanges ranging in size from 1" - 48" diameter flanges.
  • Work in 100 degree ambient temperatures while wearing protective personal protection such as acid-resistant approved PVC rain suits (topcoat, bottom pants, rubber boots, gloves, and face shield).
  • Must be able to work scheduled 8-hour days with intermittent 14-16 hour days for emergency repairs.
  • Maintain weekly time sheets in accurate format.
  • Follow all plant Rules & Regulations including lack of tardiness and absenteeism.

Requirements

  • High school diploma or GED equivalent.
  • 3+ years of relevant experience in industrial or chemical environments, highly preferred.
  • Ability to use computers effectively, Microsoft programs, maintenance management systems, email, etc.
  • Ability to read and interpret documents such as safety rules, operating and maintenance instructions, procedure manuals, manufacturer’s literature, diagrams, or schematics.
  • Must be able to complete specific job function training and/or certification programs.
  • Ability to work off-shift requirements including: periodic emergency callouts during off-shift, including weekends and holidays.

Qualifications

Pay

$47.34 per hour

Schedule

6:00am - 4:30pm, 4 days a week rotating. Overtime and weekends as needed.
