Utility locating technicians respond to utility marking requests (tickets) sent via the Kentucky State One Call System on behalf of utility customers. Daily interaction with homeowners, excavators, and utility personnel is required.
Responsibilities
- Access marking requests via an internet-enabled laptop computer
- Interpret facility records/plans and use utility locating equipment to accurately mark the horizontal location of underground facilities
- Enter proper documentation of performed markings into the online ticket management system
- Adhere to company policies and customer regulations
- Participate in a 24-hour, on-call rotation
- Prioritize work and meet daily deadlines
- Work independently throughout the day
- Occasionally lift up to 50 lbs. to access manholes and valve pits
- Walk on varying terrain, including roadside and construction areas
- Work outside in all weather conditions
Requirements
- Strong work ethic and ability to come to work daily
- Ability to take direction and training
- Acceptable Motor Vehicle Record/Driving history
- Pass a background check and pre-employment drug screening
- Familiarity with computers and ability to navigate a file system
- Good reading comprehension, written, and oral communication skills
- Ability to successfully complete in-house training program

Pay
$18.00 - $24.00 per hour, based on individual experience
Schedule
- Full-time, Monday through Friday
- Typical work hours: 7 AM – 4 PM
- Weekend and after-hours work required as needed
