Compensation

Starting rate ranges from $21.50 per hour for new locators to $29.50 per hour for those with substantial prior locating experience.

Schedule

Daytime, full‑time positions with a 48‑hour turnaround on many locates. Work may include the day after holidays, some weekends, overtime, weekend shifts, and on‑call shifts (including nights and weekends) as needed.

Responsibilities

• Correctly, safely, and efficiently locate underground utilities, including telecommunications, electric power, cable TV, gas, water, and sewer systems.
• Thoroughly search designated areas, accurately mark locations, complete required documentation, and photograph each locate.
• Use a company‑provided vehicle and best‑in‑class ticket and claims management systems to ensure clear and complete mark‑out services for excavators or property owners.

Requirements

• Willingness to work outdoors in various weather conditions.
• Previous outdoor experience is a plus.
• Proficiency with technology.
• Availability for overtime, weekends, and on‑call shifts as needed.
• Pass a drug screen (safety‑sensitive position).
• Valid driver’s license and a safe driving record.
• Ability to work in confined spaces; walk, bend, and lift up to 75 lb.
• Ability to distinguish between colors used to identify wiring and mark underground utilities.
• Ability to read and reference locate tickets, maps, and prints.
• Clear communication with colleagues, customers, contractors, and homeowners.
