An experienced Loader Operator is sought for Asheboro, NC area projects who can safely operate equipment.

Responsibilities

• Perform documented pre‑shift 360 walk‑around inspection of the equipment.
• Start engines, move throttles, switches, and levers, and depress pedals to operate such stated equipment.
• Operate straight or an articulated rubber‑tired tractor‑type vehicle equipped with front‑mounted hydraulically powered bucket or scoop to lift and transport bulk materials to and from trucks, storage, or processing areas.
• Work with ground personnel in the excavation and installation process of laying pipe on target and grade.
• Responsible for placement of water, storm, and sanitary sewer pipe in the excavation.
• Be aware of proper rigging of pipe, manhole barrels, etc. and ensure safe work procedures are followed during the lowering of materials into the excavation.
• Coordinate machine actions with other activities, positioning or moving loads in response to hand or audio signals from crew members.
• Load and move dirt, rocks, equipment, and material.
• Ensure proper care in the use and maintenance of equipment and supplies.
• Perform daily maintenance and housekeeping including inspection, checking fluid levels, greasing, and cleaning.
• Follow safety policies and procedures.
• Perform other job‑related duties as required or assigned.
• Operate other equipment as needed.

Qualifications

• Minimum 2 years of experience operating a Front End Loader.
• 2 years’ experience in underground utilities working with water, sewer, and storm drain pipes.
• Experience with basic tools and mechanically inclined.
• Capable of lifting 50 lbs.
• Thorough knowledge of safety precautions while working.
• Ability to work in construction site environments with extreme temperatures, dust, fumes, smoke, hazardous substances, and loud noise levels.
• Ability to work independently and complete daily activities according to the work schedule.
• Ability to meet attendance schedule with dependability and consistency.
• Provide personal transportation to and from the jobsite.
• Willingness to learn and adapt to change.
