Utility Laborer

ProAmpac in Manistique, MI is a 24/7 manufacturing facility producing 100% recycled brown kraft paper rolls. The rotating 4-on-4 off swing shift allows employees to work half the year, with four consecutive days off.

Responsibilities

• Serve as a relief operator for the 5th Hand, Wrapper, and Material Handler.
• Operate an overhead crane.
• Load and adjust label printers.
• Inspect and test incoming shipments.
• Properly load the conveyor and cut wires.
• Adhere to applicable health, safety, and environmental regulations, policies, and procedures.

Requirements

Education/Experience

• Clear oral and written communication skills.
• Previous work-related skills, knowledge, or experience in a manufacturing environment preferred but not required if necessary skills are possessed.
• Training provided on several shift cycles, working alongside an experienced employee.

• Ability to work in multiple areas of the mill and operate machinery.
• Problem recognition and proactive problem-solving.
• Ability to understand spoken instructions and information.
• Cooperative and pleasant demeanor with others.
• Flexibility to adapt to changes.

Physical Demands

• Perform physical activities requiring considerable use of arms and back, such as handling products.
• Stand or walk throughout the entire work shift.
• Frequent bending, stretching, twisting, or reaching with the body and arms.
• Ability to lift up to 40 pounds.

Pay

$23.51 per hour with a $0.50 shift differential for night shift. Pay increase after probationary period.
