About the role

Support the delivery of safe and reliable natural gas service while advancing your engineering career with a team dedicated to public service excellence. This position offers the opportunity to work on a variety of engineering projects involving utility infrastructure, equipment, and system operations. You'll collaborate with experienced professionals, apply innovative solutions to complex challenges, and help maintain the essential services that power our community.

Responsibilities

  • Contribute to projects that maintain and improve critical natural gas infrastructure serving homes and businesses throughout the community.
  • Support the development of engineering standards, mapping systems, and construction practices that promote safety, efficiency, and reliability.
  • Absorb and analyze data to assist with technical studies, cost analyses, and feasibility assessments to help guide infrastructure investments and operational improvements.
  • Evaluate engineering plans, consultant recommendations, and project proposals to support informed decision-making and successful project outcomes.
  • Provide project coordination and field support while collaborating with diverse teams dedicated to delivering exceptional utility services.

Requirements

  • Minimum Training and Experience:
  • Bachelor's degree in engineering or related field
  • Valid Class E State Driver's license (or equivalent)
  • Ability to work both independently and collaboratively across City departments
  • Excellent communication skills
  • Ability to engage with developers, customers, contractors, and other stakeholders

Qualifications

  • General Requirements (ALL Levels):
  • Must have a valid Class E State Driver's license (or equivalent) at the time of appointment
  • Must be able to serve on-call and are subject to having to work outside of their assigned shift/schedule to meet operational needs
  • Obtain GTI's Gas Distribution Engineering I and Gas Distribution Operations self-study courses within the first two years of employment

Pay

$29.0888 to $78.9348/hourly. Hiring rate generally will not exceed $58.1778/hour
