About the Role
This position is responsible for general maintenance repairs to the hotel and responding to trouble calls. Duties include public area and guest room preventative maintenance, as well as basic troubleshooting of electrical, plumbing, and other building systems. The Utility Engineer maintains, repairs, and constructs building components to ensure safety, functionality, and appearance.
Responsibilities
- Perform a wide variety of skilled carpentry work, including repairing doors, frames, cabinetry, drywall, ceilings, flooring, trim, furniture, and other interior and exterior building finishes.
- Conduct preventative maintenance in public areas and guest rooms.
- Troubleshoot and repair electrical, plumbing, and other building systems.
- Maintain, repair, and construct building components to ensure safety and functionality.
Requirements
- Three or more years of commercial carpentry or building maintenance experience preferred.
- Knowledge of general building construction, woodworking techniques, and repair methods.
- Ability to safely use carpentry tools and equipment.
- Strong troubleshooting and problem-solving skills.
- Ability to lift up to 50 pounds and work on ladders, scaffolding, or lifts as required.
- Excellent communication and customer service skills.
