Utility Driver - CDL Class A

Role Overview

We are seeking a dependable Class A CDL Utility Driver to support transportation and operational needs across multiple routes and locations. This versatile role involves serving as a backup for route drivers, ensuring uninterrupted service, and assisting with special projects, customer requests, and emergency operations.

Key Responsibilities

• Safely operate various commercial vehicles, including tractor-trailers, tankers, and heavy equipment.
• Provide route coverage during driver vacations, leaves, and staffing shortages.
• Perform vehicle inspections, complete DOT logs, and ensure compliance with safety standards.
• Load, transport, unload materials, and maintain communication with dispatch and customers.
• Adhere to safety protocols, report maintenance issues, and participate in training.

Qualifications & Skills

• Valid Class A CDL with a minimum of 2 years tractor-trailer experience.
• Clean Motor Vehicle Record and current DOT Medical Card.
• Ability to pass drug screening, background check, and road test.
• Strong safety commitment, excellent communication, and customer service skills.
• Flexibility to work varied schedules, including weekends and overnight travel.
• Knowledge of DOT regulations, ELDs, and basic mechanical troubleshooting (preferred).

Physical & Environmental Requirements

• Lift up to 75 pounds, climb in/out of vehicles, and work outdoors in diverse weather conditions.
• Frequent bending, reaching, and environmental tolerance for dust, noise, and odors.
• Work primarily at customer sites, terminals, farms, and operational facilities.
