About the role

A responsible and experienced Kitchen Utility Worker/Dishwasher to assist the busy kitchen team of a luxury assisted-living community with various tasks and support activities. This entry-level position offers a potential stepping stone toward a career in food services.

Responsibilities

• Clean, prep, and wash dishware, silverware, glassware, pots, and pans
• Ensure all chemical dispensers are working and cleaning supplies are adequate; use all safety equipment to meet OSHA standards
• Sweep and mop floors as directed
• Empty and clean garbage from kitchen to dumpster
• Assist with heavy lifting
• Daily cleaning of steam kettle, grill, range tops, brazier, stainless-steel surfaces, dish racks, dish storage areas, dishwasher, and dishwashing area
• Monthly cleaning of all kitchen surfaces, including walls, ceilings, stairs, tables, table legs, and appliances
• Assist in the dining room by removing soiled dishes during meal service and returning them to the kitchen

Requirements

• Experience working in a restaurant, catering facility, hospital, hospitality, healthcare, or similar food-services industry (preferred)
• Ability to operate in a fast-paced environment
• Physical ability for strenuous cleaning and lifting
• Ability to understand the English language and follow instructions with minimal supervision
• Proven ability to follow all rules, regulations, policies, and sanitary standards established by management

Schedule

Full-time, including weekends.
