About the role

ACRT, Inc. is seeking a Utility Capital Forester for energetic and experienced professionals with backgrounds in forestry, horticulture, arboriculture, environmental studies, conservation, or related fields. The position involves identifying, inspecting, and evaluating trees and brush along utility lines, submitting inspection results with recommendations, planning, directing, and coordinating tree clearance activities, and serving as a liaison between clients, tree crews, and customers.

Responsibilities

  • Identify, inspect, and evaluate trees and brush along utility lines
  • Submit inspection results to clients with recommendations
  • Plan, direct, and coordinate activities of assigned tree clearance crews
  • Discuss and negotiate line-clearance crew access issues
  • Serve as a liaison between clients, tree crews, and client customers

Requirements

  • Two or four-year forestry, Environmental Science, Natural Resources degree or related field OR high school diploma plus two years of UVM experience
  • High school diploma requirement can be waived for 5 years of UVM experience
  • Previous Vegetation management experience preferred
  • Candidate must be self-motivated, organized, production-oriented
  • Candidate must be comfortable working independently and managing a geographical area for vegetation activities
  • Candidate must be able to work with stakeholders, utility customers, and line clearance vendors and have excellent interpersonal skills
  • Candidate must demonstrate strong verbal and written communication skills
  • Multi-tasking and strong time management skills required
  • Must be able to work in varied terrain and inclement weather with flexible schedules (available nights and weekends as needed)
  • Valid driver's license required
  • ISA Arborist certification preferred

Qualifications

Skills

  • Competent computer skills including Microsoft Office Suite
  • Experience working with GIS integrated data collection software/hardware preferred but not required

Pay

The base salary range for this position is from $18 min to $24 max. Actual salaries will vary depending on factors including but not limited to customer contact terms, location, experience, and performance. Other rewards may include Paid Time Off, 401(k) retirement savings plan with company match, ESOP contributions, medical, dental, and vision insurance, and other region-specific benefits as eligible.

Schedule

Flexible schedules available, including nights and weekends as needed.
