What This Role Is All About The Utility plays a key role in delivering Sonesta's mission of providing exceptional service to both guests and colleagues. The ideal candidate will have a passion for hospitality ,maintain cleanliness and sanitation of all kitchen and dishwashing areas. Operate dishwashing equipment, clean and organize kitchenware and equipment, handle trash removal, and assist with basic food prep and special cleaning projects as needed. Qualifications What you’ll be doing Ability to communicate in basic EnglishAbility to count and follow directionsPhysically able to lift, bend, stand, and perform manual tasks in hot, humid environments Preferred: High school diploma or equivalentPrior experience in dishwashing or janitorial rolesFamiliarity with sanitation procedures and chemical handlingSanitation certification and/or knowledge of a second language Expected Hours of Work Flexibility to work variable days, including weekends and holidays, is required.Flexibility to work variable shifts (days, nights, overnights) is essential. Key Responsibilities Operate dishwashing machines to clean dishes, pots, pans, and utensilsPre-wash items, load/unload machines, and inspect cleanliness of waresHand-wash kitchen equipment and sanitize surfacesRestock cleaned wares and keep workstations organizedMaintain cleanliness of kitchen, bar, bathrooms, and service areasRemove and properly dispose of trash and recyclablesClean and maintain garbage compactor and trash areasUse cleaning chemicals and equipment per safety guidelines (OSHA)Support basic food prep and banquet setup as neededFollow all sanitation, health, and safety regulationsReport on maintenance or safety issues promptlyAll utilities are required to properly store Ecolab solutions and cleaning supplies in their designated storage areas upon delivery Go Beyond @SonestaHotels We are an organization built on people, thoughts, and ideas, all working towards fulfilling our simple mission: to wow every guest, team member, partner, and community we operate in by delivering quality, value, and amazing hospitality.
