Essential Duties And Responsibilities
- Enters documents in County computer, issues receipts and verifies information submitted by customers.
- Determines adherence to departmental procedures in preparing incoming documents for filing.
- Answers phones and assists the public.
- Explains website usage.
- Processes and preserves military discharge records as confidential.
- Validates credit cards.
- Processes fee transactions and balances receipts daily to computer.
- Produces certified birth certificates from state-wide network.
- Receives and files death certificates from funeral directors.
- Scans all filed documents into County system after processing.
- Rotates weekly duties at SW Sub-Courthouse.
- Researches and provides records documentation for other agencies and government offices.
- Fills fax requests for CPS and issues Burial-Transit Permits and Cremation Permits to funeral homes.
- Coordinates Acknowledgment of Paternity process.
- Makes daily bank deposits for overall office.
- Performs all other related duties as required.
Minimum Requirements
- A high school diploma or equivalent.
- Two (2) years general office work.
- Familiar with scanning equipment and computer keyboarding.
- Ability to work with customer face-to-face.
- Must be bondable, able to pass state security clearance, annual certification in matters pertaining to Acknowledgment of Paternity and valid Texas Driver’s License.
- Good communication, interpersonal, and multi-tasking skills.
- Proficient with keyboarding and word processing/spreadsheet software.
- Knowledge of State Vital Records programs.
- MUST TAKE AND PASS A 35 WPM TYPING TEST.
Physical Demands And Work Environment & Other Requirements
- While performing the duties of this position, the incumbent is regularly required to sit, stand, walk, bend, stoop, climb, lift, push and pull.
- Daily typing, keyboarding, scanning and embossing documents.
- Use of a motor vehicle is required to perform the essential duties of this position.
Required Question
- 01 Do you have a high School Diploma, GED or higher level of education?
- 02 Do you have a minimum of two (2) years of general office experience, interacting with the public and providing quality customer service?
- 03 Do you have knowledge of State Vital Records programs?
- 04 Are you bondable, able to pass a state security clearance and an annual certification relevant to Acknowledgment of Paternity?
- 05 Do you have a valid Texas Drivers License and a good driving record?
- 06 Can you type a minimum of 35 wpm?
