About the role

Project Manager II position with single-point accountability or under general direction of a Project Director or Senior PM. Responsible for management or assistance in managing all phases of project planning and execution to ensure success factors—scope, schedule, cost, quality, environmental, safety, communications, security, and integration—are met.

The role typically manages a portfolio of "White" or "Green" ranged projects per the Project Management Center of Excellence Risk-Informed Project Ranking Process. Higher-risk projects may also be assigned with an Enhanced Support and Oversight Plan (ESOP). Accountable for projects with Low to Moderate risk levels impacting various organizational levels, Senior Management, or External Agencies. May handle projects with specific risk-informed requirements based on experience and skill sets.

Serves as a unifying agent providing leadership, decision-making, management, guidance, coordination, and control of projects in alignment with organizational policies, procedures, and requirements.

Responsibilities

  • Provide leadership, oversight, direction, delegation, and coordination with internal and external organizations (Development, Engineering, Project Controls, Estimating, Construction Management, Supply Chain, Legal, EHS, QA/QC, Operations, Communications, Stakeholder Engagement, Regulatory, Security, Fuels, Transmission, etc.).
  • Guide matrixed team members daily and interface with functional leaders regarding placement, development, and conflict resolution.
  • Establish and maintain communications among project/program stakeholders.
  • Structure, lead, or assist in project-related meetings to ensure open communication between team members, key stakeholders, and management.
  • Prepare, communicate, or report monthly project status, kickoff meetings, and required weekly/monthly communications.
  • Assure Project Plans and appropriate reporting are developed and communicated per PMCoE Standards and Business Unit procedures.
  • Plan assigned projects, including scope, schedule, cost, safety, and quality aspects.
  • Champion project planning processes, including scope and work definition, estimating, schedule formation, monitoring, cost control, procurement/contracting strategies, equipment/vendor selection, start-up/commissioning plans, and integration.
  • Execute projects according to plans within approved scope, cost, and schedule constraints.
