This position focuses on assisting occupational therapists in implementing individualized treatment plans that promote patients' independence and improve their ability to perform daily living activities within home environments across the United States.

About the role

The Occupational Therapist Assistant plays a critical role in delivering high-quality rehabilitative care to patients in their homes. You will work closely with patients, families, and healthcare teams to monitor progress, adapt interventions, and ensure safety and comfort during therapy sessions. This role requires a commitment to patient-centered care, strong communication skills, and adherence to professional and ethical standards in home health settings.

Responsibilities

  • Administer the Occupational Therapy treatment plan as developed by the Occupational Therapist.
  • Apply concepts of infection control/universal precautions in performing patient care.
  • Ensure continuity of quality patient care delivered with appropriate documentation.
  • Provide effective communication to patient/family, team members, and other healthcare professionals.
  • Promote agency philosophy and administrative policies.

Requirements

  • Valid Certified Occupational Therapy Assistant (COTA) License.
  • Home health or skilled nursing facility experience preferred.
  • CPR certification.
  • Valid Driver’s License.
  • Valid Auto Insurance.
  • HomeCare HomeBase experience preferred.

Physical Demands

  • Must be able to stand, walk, sit, climb, crawl, squat, or kneel for extended periods.
  • Must be able to lift, carry, pull, or push up to 100 lbs.
