Used Parts Technician
About the role
This position is responsible for tearing down Caterpillar equipment to salvage parts and components. Duties include removing, cleaning, fixing, and rebuilding parts and components. It also involves providing excellent customer service, operating equipment safely, establishing service-oriented relationships, shipping/receiving parts, and storing for inventory. Additional responsibilities may include other tasks as assigned.
Responsibilities
- Tearing down Caterpillar equipment to salvage parts and components
- Removing, cleaning, fixing, and rebuilding parts and components
- Providing excellent customer service to all customers
- Operating equipment safely to unload equipment
- Establishing and maintaining a service-oriented relationship with customers and supervisors
- Shipping/receiving parts and storing for inventory
- Other duties as assigned
Requirements
- Successful completion of a formal technical training program with a minimum of three years’ service experience required
- Must have engine, transmission, electrical & hydraulic, diagnostic, trouble shooting and repair skills
- Computer literate, proficient in Microsoft, Excel, and Outlook
- Must be familiar with safety rules and wear proper safety equipment in the shop
- Ability to follow all safety rules and wear proper safety equipment in the shop
- Must be a self-starter with good time management and ability to meet time requirement guidelines
- Excellent planning and organizational skills required
- Able to work overtime and some weekends when needed
- Excellent communication skills (written, e-mail, and verbal) are necessary
- Must be able to lift up to 75-100lbs and provide your own tools
Qualifications
- High School Diploma or equivalent is required
- Valid driver’s license with a clean driving record, including no more than 2 minor violations within the past 3 years and no major violations within the past 5 years (Motor Vehicle Report will be performed on final candidate)
Skills
- Engine, transmission, electrical & hydraulic, diagnostic, trouble shooting and repair skills
- Computer literacy (Microsoft, Excel, Outlook)
- Safety awareness and proficiency in wearing appropriate safety equipment
- Time management and organization skills
- Communication skills (written, e-mail, and verbal)
- Lifting and moving capabilities (up to 75-100lbs)

Competitive pay is offered.
Schedule
The position is Monday through Friday, 7:30am - 5:00pm, with occasional overtime and weekends as needed.
