Used Firearms Sales - Part-Time

Responsible for evaluating and purchasing used firearms, ensuring proper acquisition into the bound book, and providing legendary customer service. This role includes processing firearms transactions in compliance with all internal policies, procedures, and applicable laws, as well as initiating and verifying 4473 forms and other required documentation.

Responsibilities

• Evaluates, appraises, and purchases used firearms using expertise in firearms knowledge and resources.
• Acquires firearms legally in accordance with ATF, state, and local laws, including:
  • Completing ATF-required forms and applicable state forms for background checks.
  • Certifying and screening all potential firearm transfers for legality, including compliance with waiting periods and straw purchase regulations.
  • Ensuring error-free completion of all company forms.
• Maintains visual and operational standards within the department, including restocking, remerchandising, cleaning fixtures, and general housekeeping.
• Performs opening and closing duties, ensuring proper facing of firearms tags and organization in the back room.
• Participates in ongoing training, including firearms and shooting product information, compliance training, and selling skills.
• Provides legendary customer service by assisting customers in making buying decisions, identifying needs, and offering product recommendations.
• Handles customer issues using good judgment and problem-solving skills within the scope of the role.
• Communicates the benefits of company programs to customers.

Requirements

• Minimum of a High School Diploma or equivalent experience.
• 2 to 4 years of relevant experience.
• Must be 21 years of age or older.
• Ability to safely handle firearms.
• Knowledge of purchasing firearms, either through industry experience or personal collecting.
• Good understanding of retail operations and basic computer skills.
• Background in current firearms models and the ability to appraise used firearms for marketable value.
• Strong work ethic and ability to multitask.
