Used Equipment Inspector

About the role

The Used Equipment Inspector at Wagner Equipment Co. is responsible for inspecting machines for potential trade, consignment, or purchase, performing light mechanical work on used machines, and showing machines to prospective customers.

Responsibilities

• Maintains an orderly and tidy used equipment display area
• Photographs machines for marketing efforts
• Captures and coordinates inspection process with sales people and customers
• Aids walk-in customers
• Starts and shows machine to prospective buyers
• Inspects potential trades, consignments, fleet retirements, and purchases
• Inspects trades as they are received to ensure completeness and condition
• Measures and inspects undercarriages on rental and used machines
• Coordinates repair and sales preparation of used equipment
• Inspects used rental equipment for customer damage and contacts customers for negotiation of repairs
• Coordinates service on flat tires, glass replacement, and battery replacements
• Makes minor repairs to designated machines
• Performs other duties as assigned by manager

Requirements

• High School Diploma or GED
• 5+ years as a heavy equipment technician on Caterpillar equipment
• 1+ years administrative/clerical experience
• 1+ years customer service experience

• Standing, walking, talking, sitting, use of hands, hearing
• Data Entry, telephone, reading/writing, reasoning, organizational, communication & math skills
• Safety & Product Knowledge
• Intermediate knowledge of Microsoft Word and Excel

Pay

$61,665.61 - $84,845.04 Annually

Pay rate is based on education and experience.
