About the role

The fellowship will be located in Columbia, Missouri, where the participant will work on an ongoing research project integrating spatial and temporal agricultural data from various sources, including remote sensing, water quality, soil health, and crop yield data. The participant will collaborate with scientists from diverse agricultural specialties such as hydrology, soil science, and agronomy.

Responsibilities

  • Compile and analyze different types of agricultural data with varying levels of spatial and temporal support.
  • Contribute to the development and improvement of tools to help farmers optimize production and profit on their farms.
  • Interact with scientists from diverse agricultural specialties to gain a comprehensive understanding of the research process.

Requirements

  • Currently pursuing or having received a master's degree in relevant fields.
  • Master's degree must have been received within the past two years, or be currently pursued.
  • Minimum overall GPA of 3.00.
  • Citizenship: U.S. Citizen Only.
  • Age: Must be 18 years of age.

  • Experience handling large datasets.
  • Performing quality checks and validation procedures to ensure data integrity.

Benefits

Participants will receive a monthly stipend commensurate with educational level and experience. The anticipated stipend range is $5,500 - $6,000 monthly.

Schedule

The appointment will initially be for one year, but may be renewed upon recommendation of ARS and is contingent on the availability of funds.
