USCG Assistant Engineer

We're looking for an experienced Assistant Engineer to join the engine department aboard an offshore support vessel operating in the Gulf. This is a hands-on position supporting the Chief Engineer with the safe operation, maintenance, and reliability of the vessel's machinery and auxiliary systems. Responsibilities Stand engine room watches and monitor propulsion and auxiliary equipment.Perform planned and corrective maintenance on diesel engines, generators, pumps, compressors, and associated machinery.Troubleshoot mechanical and electrical issues and assist with equipment repairs.Support bunkering, fuel transfers, lube oil management, and engine room housekeeping.Maintain accurate maintenance records and comply with company safety and environmental procedures.Assist with emergency response duties and help ensure the engine room remains operationally ready throughout the hitch. Requirements Previous experience as an Assistant Engineer.USCG MMC with appropriate engineering endorsement.Current USCG Medical Certificate.Valid STCW endorsements.TWIC.U.S. Passport or government-issued ID. We're looking for someone who can step onboard with minimal supervision, contribute immediately to the engine department, and maintain a strong focus on safety, reliability, and teamwork.
