Position Summary

Ensures financial sustainability by compiling and reporting budget information, requesting replacement HVACVR equipment for facilities, submitting warranty claims, reviewing journals and invoices, conducting price comparisons of refrigerant parts and travel-related costs, and developing scopes of work for projects.

What you'll do...

  • Completes work assignments and priorities in HVACR service by using HVACR policies, data, and resources.
  • Collaborates with management, coworkers, customers, and other business partners.
  • Identifies HVACR priorities, deadlines, and expectations.
  • Carries out tasks, communicates progress and information.
  • Determines and recommends ways to address improvement opportunities and adapts to change.
  • Ensures compliance with applicable federal, state, and local HVACR industry regulations and guidelines.
  • Performs work according to practices and procedures outlined in the Walmart HVACR safety policy and environmental guidelines.
  • Reclaims ozone-depleting refrigerants.
  • Provides required paperwork by completing and submitting forms.
  • Manages refrigerant levels and parts inventory.
  • Records HVACVR purchases and usage, tracks and orders HVACVR parts, develops relationships with suppliers and contractors.
  • Troubleshoots, diagnoses, maintains, and repairs equipment.
  • Performs major and minor preventive maintenance.
  • Manages district workloads with external service providers.
  • Provides expert advice and guidance to others.
  • Supports and aligns efforts to meet customer and business needs.
  • Models compliance with company policies and procedures.
  • Respects individuals by demonstrating and encouraging respect, driving a positive associate and customer/member experience, embracing differences, and fostering a culture of belonging.

Minimum Qualifications

  • Vocational or Technical Heating, Ventilation, Air Conditioning, and Refrigeration (HVAC/R) certification and 2 years experience in mechanical maintenance or construction-related field for commercial HVAC/R and building controls OR 4 years experience in mechanical maintenance or construction-related field for commercial HVAC/R and building controls or related field.
  • Type I/Type II Environmental Protection Agency (EPA) Certification for Refrigerant handling.

Preferred Qualifications

  • Completion of a 2-year Vocational or Technical HVAC/R program, Mechanical license in city and/or state where job is located.
