(USA) Technician, General Facilities Maintenance
About the role
Walmart is expanding its workforce and seeking a General Facilities Maintenance Technician to join our local and regional team. In this role, you will execute routine maintenance tasks to uphold the safety, functionality, and aesthetics of Walmart stores, equipment, or fixtures. Operating under the supervision of the local General Maintenance Manager, you will adhere to established maintenance schedules and guidelines, conducting inspections, cleaning, and repairing facilities, equipment, or fixtures.
Responsibilities
- Maintain and repair Walmart facilities, equipment, and assets using multiple craft skills (e.g., plumbing, electrical, carpentry, material handling equipment, food equipment) and hand/power tools.
- Utilize the work order management system to receive and document reactive repair work orders supporting stores and associates.
- Provide prompt response to emergency maintenance calls.
- Inspect, operate, or test facilities, equipment, or fixtures to diagnose issues.
- Complete all required safety training to operate equipment and tools.
Requirements
- 18 years or older.
- High School Diploma or equivalent.
- Ability to lift up to 50 lbs. at a time.
- Comfortable working on ladders and at heights frequently.
- Ability to sit or stand for long periods of time.
- Able to work in various temperatures.
- Valid state-issued driver’s license with a clean driving record; must pass a Motor Vehicle Record (MVR) report.
- Vocational or Technical certification and 1 year of experience, or 2 years of total work experience in one of the following trades: plumbing, electrical, material handling equipment, or a related trade.
- Eligible for a Commercial Driver's License (CDL).
Preferred Qualifications
- Completion of a 2-year Vocational or Technical trade program.
- License in a related trade in the city and/or state where the job is located.
- Intermediate proficiency in word processing, spreadsheet, email, and presentation software (e.g., Word, Excel, Outlook, PowerPoint).

Pay
The hourly wage range for this position is $19.00 - $35.00. The actual hourly rate will meet or exceed the required minimum wage for the job location. Additional compensation in the form of premiums may apply, ranging from $0.35 to $3.00 per hour, based on schedule, facility, season, or specific work performed. Multiple premiums may apply if applicable criteria are met.
