Walmart is expanding its workforce and seeking a General Facilities Maintenance Technician to join our dynamic team. This role involves executing routine maintenance tasks to uphold the safety, functionality, and aesthetics of Walmart stores, equipment, or fixtures. You’ll work under the supervision of the local General Maintenance Manager, adhering to established maintenance schedules and guidelines while conducting inspections, cleaning, and repairs.
Responsibilities
- Maintain and repair Walmart facilities, equipment, and assets using multiple craft skills (e.g., plumbing, electrical, carpentry, material handling equipment, food equipment) and hand/power tools.
- Utilize the work order management system to receive and document reactive repair work orders supporting stores and associates.
- Provide prompt response to emergency maintenance calls.
- Inspect, operate, or test facilities, equipment, or fixtures to diagnose issues.
- Complete all required safety training for operating equipment and tools.
Requirements
- 18 years or older.
- High School Diploma or equivalent.
- Ability to lift up to 50 lbs. at a time.
- Comfortable working on ladders and at heights frequently.
- Ability to sit or stand for long periods.
- Ability to work in various temperatures.
- Valid state-issued driver’s license with a clean driving record; must pass a Motor Vehicle Record (MVR) report.
- Vocational or Technical certification and 1 year of experience, or 2 years of total work experience in one of the following trades: plumbing, electrical, material handling equipment, or a related trade.
Qualifications
- Vocational or Technical certification and 3 years’ experience in plumbing, electrical, material handling equipment, or a related trade, or 5 years’ experience in one of these trades.
- Eligible for a Commercial Driver’s License (CDL).
- Preferred: Completion of a 2-year Vocational or Technical trade program.
- Preferred: License in a related trade for the city and/or state where the job is located.
- Preferred: Intermediate proficiency in word processing, spreadsheet, email, and presentation software (e.g., Word, Excel, Outlook, PowerPoint).
