(USA) Technician, Facility Services, HVAC-Refrigeration
Join Walmart’s dynamic team as a Supermarket Rack Refrigeration HVAC Technician, supporting repair and maintenance of Walmart facilities' refrigeration and HVAC equipment in a fast-paced retail environment.
Responsibilities
- Maintain and repair Walmart facility's refrigeration HVAC equipment and assets using commercial HVAC and refrigeration skills, hand tools, digital tools, power tools, and other equipment.
- Utilize the work order management system to receive and document repair work orders supporting stores and store associates.
- Provide prompt response to emergency maintenance calls.
- Inspect, operate, or test facilities, equipment, or fixtures to diagnose issues.
- Complete all required training to operate equipment and tools safely.
- Ensure compliance with Occupational Safety and Health Administration (OSHA) and Environmental Protection Agency (EPA) regulations and guidelines.
- Perform work according to Walmart refrigeration HVAC safety policy and environmental guidelines.
- Lift up to 75 pounds, move up and down ladders, and work at heights frequently.
Requirements
- 2 years’ experience in commercial refrigeration HVAC maintenance.
- Large-scale rack refrigeration experience.
- Type I/Type II or Universal Environmental Protection Agency (EPA) certification for refrigerant handling.
- Valid state-issued driver’s license with a clean driving record and ability to pass a Motor Vehicle Record (MVR) report.
- 18 years or older with a high school diploma or equivalent.
Qualifications
Minimum Qualifications (one of the following):
- Vocational or technical HVAC/R certification and 2 years’ experience in mechanical maintenance or construction-related field for commercial HVAC/R and building controls.
- 4 years’ experience in mechanical maintenance or construction-related field for commercial HVAC/R and building controls or related field.
- Hold and maintain Type I and Type II or Universal EPA certification for refrigerant handling.
- Where required, HVAC-R/Mechanical Journeyman license.
- Commercial driving record with no DUI, DWI, or OUI convictions within the last five years, no more than two moving violations in the last three years, no preventable accidents in the last three years, and no serious traffic violations as defined by Federal Motor Carrier Safety Regulations.
Preferred Qualifications:
- Completion of a 2-year vocational or technical HVAC/R program.
- Experience using word processing, spreadsheet, email, and presentation software (e.g., Word, Excel, Outlook, PowerPoint).
- Mechanical license in the city and/or state where the job is located.
- Prior work experience reading blueprints, schematics, and wiring diagrams.
- Prior work experience using hand tools, power tools, and testing equipment.

Pay
The hourly wage range for this position is $29.00 - $58.00. The actual hourly rate will equal or exceed the required minimum wage applicable to the job location. Additional compensation in the form of premiums may be paid in amounts ranging from $0.35 to $3.00 per hour in specific circumstances, such as schedule, facility, season, or specific work performed. Multiple premiums may apply if applicable criteria are met.
