(USA) Technician, Facility Services, HVAC-Refrigeration

Join Walmart as a Supermarket Rack Refrigeration HVAC Technician and support the repair and maintenance of our retail store facilities' HVAC and refrigeration equipment. Utilize your commercial HVAC and refrigeration skills in a fast-paced environment to enhance customer experience and maintain high facility standards.

Responsibilities

• Maintain and repair Walmart facility's refrigeration HVAC equipment and assets using hand tools, digital tools, power tools, and other equipment.
• Utilize the work order management system to receive and document repair work orders supporting stores and store associates.
• Provide prompt response to emergency maintenance calls.
• Inspect, operate, or test facilities, equipment, or fixtures to diagnose issues.
• Complete all required training to operate equipment and tools safely.
• Ensure compliance with Occupational Safety and Health Administration (OSHA) and Environmental Protection Agency (EPA) regulations and guidelines.
• Lift up to 75 pounds, move up and down ladders, and work at heights frequently.

Requirements

• 2 years’ experience in commercial refrigeration HVAC maintenance.
• Large-scale rack refrigeration experience.
• Type I/Type II or Universal EPA Certification for refrigerant handling.
• Valid state-issued driver’s license with a clean driving record and ability to pass a Motor Vehicle Record (MVR) report.
• 18 years or older with a high school diploma or equivalent.

Minimum Qualifications

• Option 1: Vocational or technical HVAC/R certification and 2 years’ experience in mechanical maintenance or construction-related field for commercial HVAC/R and building controls.
• Option 2: 4 years’ experience in mechanical maintenance or construction-related field for commercial HVAC/R and building controls or related field.
• Hold and maintain Type I and Type II or Universal EPA certification for refrigerant handling.
• Where required, HVAC-R/Mechanical Journeyman license.
• Valid state-issued driver’s license and ability to pass a motor vehicle report.
• Commercial driving record with:
  • No convictions for DUI, DWI, OUI within the last five (5) years.
  • No more than two (2) moving violations in the last three (3) years.
  • No preventable accidents while operating a commercial motor vehicle in the last three (3) years.
  • No serious traffic violations (as defined by the Federal Motor Carrier Safety Regulations) while operating a commercial motor vehicle in the last three (3) years.

Preferred Qualifications

• Completion of a 2-year vocational or technical HVAC/R program.
• Experience using word processing, spreadsheet, email, and presentation software (e.g., Word, Excel, Outlook, PowerPoint).
• Mechanical license in the city and/or state where the job is located.
• Prior work experience reading blueprints, schematics, and wiring diagrams.
• Prior work experience using hand tools, power tools, and testing equipment.

Pay

The hourly wage range for this position is $29.00 - $58.00. The actual hourly rate will equal or exceed the required minimum wage applicable to the job location. Additional compensation in the form of premiums may be paid in amounts ranging from $0.35 per hour to $3.00 per hour in specific circumstances, based on schedule, facility, season, or specific work performed.
