About the Role
As a General Facilities Maintenance Technician at Walmart, you will execute routine maintenance tasks to uphold the safety, functionality, and aesthetics of Walmart stores, equipment, or fixtures. Operating under the supervision of the local General Maintenance Manager, you'll adhere to established maintenance schedules and guidelines, conducting inspections, cleaning, and repairing facilities, equipment, or fixtures. This role is essential for maintaining the operational integrity and efficiency of food equipment in Walmart stores, contributing to overall store performance and customer satisfaction.
Responsibilities
- Maintain and repair Walmart facilities, equipment, and assets by utilizing multiple craft skills (e.g., plumbing, electrical, carpentry, material handling equipment, food equipment) and using hand tools, power tools, and other equipment.
- Utilize the work order management system to receive reactive repair work orders, support stores and store associates, and document repair activities.
- Provide prompt response to emergency maintenance calls.
- Inspect, operate, or test facilities, equipment, or fixtures to diagnose issues.
- Develop and adhere to preventative maintenance schedules.
- Train store associates on equipment care and cleaning to reduce misuse and damage.
- Manage work orders and maintenance logs accurately and timely.
- Ensure safety and proper functionality of all serviced equipment, limiting the risk of cross-contamination in food production areas.
Equipment Serviced
- Food Equipment: Combi ovens, deli slicers, auto meat cutters, fryers, hot cases, ice makers, pizza ovens, rotisserie ovens, thermoglazers, donut cases, four bowl warmers, bakery ovens, bread slicers, tortilla makers.
- Grease and Oil Systems: Oil/water separators, used cooking oil tanks.

Requirements
- 18 years or older.
- High School Diploma or equivalent.
- Ability to lift up to 50 lbs. at a time.
- Ability to move up and down ladders frequently and work at heights.
- Ability to sit or stand for long periods of time.
- Ability to work in various temperatures.
- Valid state-issued driver’s license with a clean driving record and ability to pass a Motor Vehicle Record (MVR) report.
- Vocational or technical certification and 1 year of experience, or 2 years of total work experience, in one of the following trades: plumbing, electrical, material handling equipment, or related trade.
Minimum Qualifications
- Option 1: Vocational or technical certification and 2 years’ experience in plumbing, electrical, material handling equipment, or related area.
- Option 2: 4 years’ experience in plumbing, electrical, material handling equipment, or related area.
- License in a related trade in the city and/or state where the job is located.
- Valid state-issued driver’s license and ability to pass a motor vehicle report.
- Commercial driving record with no convictions for DUI, DWI, OUI within the last five (5) years.
- Commercial driving record with no more than two (2) moving violations in the last three (3) years.
- No preventable accidents while operating a commercial motor vehicle in the last three (3) years.
- No serious traffic violations, as defined by the Federal Motor Carrier Safety Regulations, while operating a commercial motor vehicle in the last three (3) years.
Preferred Qualifications
- Experience in mechanical maintenance or construction-related field for commercial HVAC/R and building controls.
- Experience using word processing, spreadsheet, email, and presentation software (e.g., Word, Excel, Outlook, PowerPoint).
- Prior work experience reading blueprints, schematics, and wiring diagrams.
- Prior work experience using hand tools, power tools, and testing equipment.

Pay
The hourly wage range for this position is $26.00 - $51.00. The actual hourly rate will equal or exceed the required minimum wage applicable to the job location. Additional compensation in the form of premiums may be paid in amounts ranging from $0.35 per hour to $3.00 per hour in specific circumstances, such as based on schedule, facility, season, or specific work performed.
