Walmart is expanding its workforce and looking for a General Facilities Maintenance Technician to join our local and regional team. This role involves executing routine maintenance tasks to uphold the safety, functionality, and aesthetics of Walmart Stores, equipment, or fixtures. Key Responsibilities

  • Maintain and repair Walmart facilities, equipment, and assets by utilizing multiple craft skills (for example, plumbing, electrical, carpentry, material handling equipment, food equipment) and using hand tools, power tools, and other equipment to complete jobs
  • Utilize the work order management system to receive reactive repair Work Orders to support Stores and Store associates and document repair activities
  • Provide prompt response to emergency maintenance calls
  • Inspect, operate, or test facilities, equipment, or fixtures to diagnose issues
  • Complete all required training requirements to operate equipment and tools safely

Equipment Serviced

  • Food Equipment: Combi ovens, deli slicers, auto meat cutters, fryers, hot cases, ice makers, pizza ovens, rotisserie ovens, thermoglazers, donut cases, four bowl warmers, bakery ovens, bread slicers, tortilla makers
  • Grease and Oil Systems: Oil/water separators, used cooking oil tanks
  • Trades Utilized: Plumbing, Electrical, Carpentry, Material Handling Equipment Maintenance

Minimum Qualifications

  • 18 years or older
  • High School Diploma or equivalent
  • Can lift up to 50 lbs. at a time
  • Can move up and down ladders frequently
  • Comfortable working at heights frequently
  • Ability to sit or stand for long periods of time
  • Able to work in various temperatures
  • Hold a valid state-issued driver's license with a clean driving record and ability to pass a Motor Vehicle Record (MVR) report
  • Option 1: Vocational or technical certification and 2 years' experience in plumbing, electrical, material handling equipment, or related area
  • Option 2: 4 years' experience in plumbing, electrical, material handling equipment, or related area
  • License in a related trade in the city and/or state where the job is located
  • Commercial driving record with no convictions for DUI, DWI, OUI within the last five (5) years
  • Commercial driving record with no more than two (2) moving violations in the last three (3) years
  • No preventable accidents while operating a commercial motor vehicle in the last three (3) years
  • No serious traffic violations, as defined by the Federal Motor Carrier Safety Regulations, while operating a commercial motor vehicle in the last three (3) years

Preferred Qualifications

  • Experience in mechanical maintenance or construction-related field for commercial HVAC/R and building controls
  • Experience using word processing, spreadsheet, email, and presentation software (for example, Word, Excel, Outlook, PowerPoint)
  • Prior work experience reading blueprints, schematics, and wiring diagrams
  • Prior work experience using hand tools, power tools, and testing equipment

Pay

The hourly wage range for this position is $26.00 - $51.00. The actual hourly rate will equal or exceed the required minimum wage applicable to the job location. Additional compensation in the form of premiums may be paid in amounts ranging from $0.35 per hour to $3.00 per hour in specific circumstances. Premiums may be based on schedule, facility, season, or specific work performed. Multiple premiums may apply if applicable criteria are met. An additional bonus available for this role is available and will be disclosed during the interview process.
