(USA) Technician, Facility Services, Exterior Services-DOT

About the role

Walmart is expanding its workforce across local retail stores and is actively recruiting Landscape Operators to join a dynamic team as an Exterior Services Technician - DOT Operator. In this role, you will oversee landscape projects and collaborate with a dedicated team to maintain the grounds year-round, ensuring the exterior environment remains pristine.

Responsibilities

• Conduct grounds maintenance activities in parking lots, exterior buildings, and surrounding areas to uphold cleanliness standards.
• Work alongside fellow associates to manage all aspects of landscaping and exterior maintenance.
• Adhere to stringent safety, security, and integrity protocols, ensuring compliance with corporate policies and regulatory requirements at local, federal, and state levels.
• Ensure compliance with OSHA and EPA regulations and guidelines.
• Evaluate landscaping needs and implement sustainable upgrades.
• Perform duties including mowing, trimming, and pruning.

Requirements

• Minimum age of 21 years.
• Valid state-issued driver’s license.
• Clean driving record with no DUI/DWI convictions or reckless driving incidents involving alcohol or drugs within the last 3 years.
• No more than 2 moving violations in the last 3 years if operating a commercial motor vehicle.
• No serious traffic violations or preventable accidents in the last 3 years if operating a commercial motor vehicle.
• Ability to read and communicate effectively in English.
• Ability to successfully complete a DOT physical and secure medical certification.
• 2 years’ experience in the landscaping/gardening industry.

Preferred Qualifications

• Able to maintain a minimum of a 90-day Medical Examiner’s Certification (MEC) card.
• Associate’s degree or equivalent in Engineering, Maintenance, Construction Management, or related area.
• Experience in third-party management.
• Experience using intermediate-level functionality of word processing, spreadsheet, email, and presentation software (e.g., Word, Excel, Outlook, PowerPoint).
• Proficient in speaking and understanding Spanish.
• State/local licensing where required (e.g., Florida, Texas, California).
