Position Summary

Directs and guides members of management and hourly associates on proper customer service approaches and techniques by modeling excellent customer service. Drives and ensures the financial performance of the facility by confirming budgeted sales, wages, and other expenses are achieved. Participates in community outreach programs and encourages associates to serve as good members of the community.

What you'll do...

  • Directs and guides members of management and hourly associates on proper customer service approaches and techniques by modeling excellent customer service. Ensures customer needs, complaints, and issues are successfully resolved within company guidelines and standards. Builds relationships with associates to ensure proper feedback and answers questions or provides information to customers and associates.

  • Drives and ensures the financial performance of the facility by confirming budgeted sales, wages, and other expenses are achieved. Assists the store manager in leading the management team in controlling expenses and wages to ensure expenses are indexed to sales. Creates and implements plans to improve the financial performance of the facility. Creates budgets to align with business needs and analyzes economic trends and community needs for budget forecasting.

  • Participates in community outreach programs and encourages and supports associates in serving as good members of the community. Establishes and maintains relationships with key individuals or groups in the community. Acts as the representative for the company and presents the company's perspective to various external organizations. Follows the company's media guidelines and promotes company-sponsored programs and events and sustainability efforts to associates and the local community.

  • Directs facility operations by setting the standard for appropriate service levels. Teaches and develops effective merchandise presentation, such as accurate and competitive pricing, proper signage, maintaining inventory levels, requesting merchandise to meet the needs of the community. Provides direction and guidance on executing company programs and strategic initiatives. Ensures quality assurance standards and oversees safety and operational reviews.

  • Supervises and develops opportunities for members of management and hourly associates by hiring, training, mentoring, assigning duties, setting clear expectations, providing associate recognition, delegating business objectives, effectively developing qualified associates to meet staffing needs and achieve company growth potential. Drives the execution of multiple business plans and projects by identifying customer and operational needs. Develops and communicates business plans and priorities. Removes barriers and obstacles that impact performance. Provides resources. Identifies performance standards. Measures progress and adjusts performance accordingly. Develops contingency plans and demonstrates adaptability. Supports continuous learning.

  • Supervises and develops opportunities for associates by selecting and training, mentoring, assigning duties, building a team-based work environment, establishing performance expectations, conducting regular performance evaluations, providing recognition and rewards, coaching for success and improvement, and promoting a belonging mindset in the workplace. Promotes and supports company policies, procedures, mission, values, and standards of ethics and integrity by training and providing direction to others in their use and application. Ensures compliance with them. Utilizes and supports the Open Door Policy.

Live Better U

Live Better U is a Walmart-paid education benefit program for full-time and part-time associates in Walmart and Sam's Club facilities. Programs range from high school completion to bachelor's degrees, including English Language Learning and short-form certificates. Tuition, books, and fees are completely paid for by Walmart. Eligibility requirements apply to some benefits and may depend on your job classification and length of employment. Annual Salary Range

The annual salary range for this position is $80,000.00 - $100,000.00. Additional compensation includes annual or quarterly performance bonuses. Additional compensation for certain positions may also include: Regional Pay Zone (RPZ) (based on location), Complex Structure (based on external factors that create challenges), State Pay Differential.

Minimum Qualifications

  • 1 year’s general management experience to include financial accountability.
  • 2 years’ of college; OR 1 year’s retail experience and 1 year’s experience supervising 10 associates/employees; OR 2 years’ general work experience and 1 year’s experience supervising 10 associates/employees.

Preferred Qualifications

  • Bachelor of Science in Business Management and Leadership through Live Better U and Bellevue University.
  • General work experience supervising 20 or more direct reports to include the responsibility of performance management, mentoring, hiring, and firing.
