Walmart is seeking a Staff Quality Engineer to enhance product quality through comprehensive test design, automation, and root cause analysis. This role involves collaborating across teams to translate business requirements into effective testing strategies, ensuring adherence to standards and continuous integration processes.

The Physical AI Team at Walmart Global Tech is a strategic, rapidly expanding group dedicated to advancing physical security and access management through Digital Locks, IoT, Edge Computing, Cloud Platforms, and Artificial Intelligence. The team develops scalable, secure solutions that manage thousands of connected devices, enhancing operational efficiency, security, and compliance across Walmart facilities. Collaborating closely with product, security, infrastructure, and operations teams, they address large-scale challenges with innovation, ownership, and swift execution. This team focuses on building impactful cloud platforms and connected ecosystems that serve millions of associates and customers.
Responsibilities
- Analyze and classify requirements to align with business objectives and technical needs, ensuring comprehensive coverage of functional and non-functional aspects.
- Develop and maintain automation tools to enhance quality processes and improve testing efficiency.
- Monitor project progress, providing timely updates on schedules, risks, and dependencies to stakeholders.
- Design and execute test scenarios, including functional, performance, security, and integration tests, adhering to industry standards.
- Lead root cause analysis and corrective actions to resolve defects and improve product reliability.
- Collaborate cross-functionally to translate business requirements into effective quality engineering solutions.
Requirements
- Proven expertise in test engineering, including test design, execution, and automation using tools such as Selenium, Appium, and REST Assured.
- Strong knowledge of software quality assurance principles, risk analysis, and root cause analysis methodologies.
- Experience with continuous integration and deployment (CI/CD) processes and program monitoring techniques.
- Proficiency in developing and maintaining automation frameworks and test scripts aligned with industry standards.
- Ability to translate complex business requirements into comprehensive test scenarios and traceability matrices.
- Skilled in SQL database querying, HTML5, and .NET Framework to support testing activities.
- Effective project management and communication skills to collaborate across teams and ensure quality deliverables.
Qualifications
Option 1: Bachelor's degree in computer science, computer engineering, computer information systems, software engineering, or related area and 4 years’ experience in software quality assurance, manual/automated testing, or related area.
Option 2: 6 years' experience in software engineering quality assurance, manual/automated testing, or related area.
- Master's degree in Software Engineering Quality Assurance, Manual/Automated Testing, or related area and 2 years’ experience in Software Quality Assurance, Manual/Automated Testing, or related area (preferred).
- Quality assurance certification (e.g., CSTE - Certified Test Engineer, CSQA - Certified Software Quality Analyst) (preferred).
- Related industry experience (e.g., retail, supply chain, eCommerce, healthcare) (preferred).

You will also receive PTO and/or PPTO that can be used for vacation, sick leave, holidays, or other purposes. The amount depends on your job classification and length of employment and will meet or exceed the requirements of paid sick leave laws, where applicable.
Pay
The annual salary range for this position is $90,000.00 - $180,000.00. Additional compensation includes annual or quarterly performance bonuses and stock for certain positions.
