Responsibilities

  • Maintain and repair Walmart facility's HVAC/R equipment and assets by utilizing commercial HVAC and Refrigeration skills and using hand tools, digital tools, power tools, and other equipment to complete jobs
  • Operate under the supervision of the local Refrigeration and HVAC Manager, adhering to established maintenance schedules and guidelines
  • Conduct inspections, cleaning, and repairing of facilities, equipment, or fixtures
  • Utilize the work order management system to receive repair Work Orders to support Stores and Store associates and document repair activities
  • Provide prompt response to emergency maintenance calls
  • Inspect, operate, or test facilities, equipment, or fixtures to diagnose issues
  • Complete all required training requirements to operate equipment and tools safely
  • Ensure compliance with Occupational Safety and Health Administration and Environmental Protection Agency regulations and guidelines by performing work according to practices and procedures outlined in the Walmart HVAC/R safety policy and environmental guidelines

Requirements

  • 18 years or older
  • High School Diploma or equivalent
  • Vocational or Technical HVAC/R certification and 6 months' experience, OR 2 years total work experience, in commercial refrigeration, mechanical maintenance or construction-related field for commercial HVAC/R and building controls or related field
  • Type I and Type II EPA Large Scale Rack Refrigeration Experience
  • Valid Driver's License
  • Can lift up to 75 lbs.
  • Can move up and down ladders frequently
  • Comfortable working at heights frequently

Qualifications

Minimum Qualifications:

  • Option 1: 3 years' experience in HVAC/grocery rack refrigeration
  • Option 2: 6 years' experience in HVAC/grocery rack refrigeration and Associate of Applied Science (AAS) in Air Conditioning and Refrigeration
  • Hold and maintain Type I and Type II or Universal Environmental Protection Agency certification for refrigerant handling
  • Where required, HVAC-R/Mechanical Journeyman
  • 1 year's experience in plumbing, electrical, material handling equipment, or related area or 2 years' Walmart store experience
  • Valid state-issued driver's license and ability to pass a motor vehicle report
  • Ability to read and speak the English language as required by Federal Motor Carrier Safety Regulations

Preferred Qualifications:

  • Completion of a 2-year technical/vocational HVAC/R program or 2-year associate's of applied science A/C and refrigeration
  • Excellent driving record
  • Prior work experience with Glycol and C02 systems

Pay

The hourly wage range for this position is $26.00 - $51.00. Additional compensation in the form of premiums may be paid in amounts ranging from $0.35 per hour to $3.00 per hour in specific circumstances. Premiums may be based on schedule, facility, season, or specific work performed. Multiple premiums may apply if applicable criteria are met.
