As a Senior Meat Cutter, you will drive sales in your area to deliver to our members more of what they love, for less. You will work collaboratively with other associates to ensure the total club meets the member’s expectations.

Responsibilities

  • Collaborate with cross-functional teams and help educate other associates on tools, tasks, and resources.
  • Communicate effectively and develop interpersonal skills for providing customer service while being flexible to the needs of the business.
  • Track goods, maintain instock levels, and control shrinkage.
  • Maintain an in-depth knowledge of various types and seasonality of different meat products, equipment usage, and backroom operations.
  • Provide meat products to members by processing meat according to specifications, including cutting, slicing, grinding, and wrapping meat products.
  • Ensure compliance with food safety standards, sanitation guidelines, and inventory management.
  • Operate, maintain, and sanitize equipment.
  • Leverage digital tools to drive sales, improve the shopping experience, and elevate associate engagement.
  • Utilize handheld technology to make immediate business decisions related to production, training, and product quality with the member in mind.
  • Adapt to new tools and encourage others to use them.
  • Drive business results by ensuring commitment to operational excellence and planning for profitability.
  • Maintain a work area according to company policies and procedures, ensuring quality and standards for high-volume meat products.
  • Eliminate waste, secure fragile and high-shrink merchandise, and assist members with purchasing decisions.
  • Ensure merchandise is properly packaged, labeled, and stored.
  • Be an advocate for the department and the club by valuing the members' experience in the meat area and modeling high-quality service and products.
  • Execute basics at the highest possible level of quality and interact with associates to understand roadblocks.
  • Assist in training associates to perform job-related duties as assigned.
  • Comply with company policies, procedures, and standards of ethics and integrity by implementing related action plans using the Open Door Policy.
  • Complete work assignments and priorities by using policies, data, and resources, collaborating with managers, coworkers, customers, and other business partners.
  • Identify priorities, deadlines, and expectations, carry out tasks, communicate progress and information, and determine and recommend ways to address improvement opportunities.

Requirements

  • 6 months’ experience working in a fresh production department.
  • Must be 18 years of age or older.
  • Acknowledge that the position requires successful completion of all job-required trainings and assessments within a prescribed time period if hired.

  • Experience in a meat processing area.

Pay

The hourly wage range for this position is $19.00 to $27.00. The actual hourly rate will equal or exceed the required minimum wage applicable to the job location. Additional compensation in the form of premiums may be paid in amounts ranging from $0.35 per hour to $3.00 per hour in specific circumstances. Premiums may be based on schedule, facility, season, or specific work performed. Multiple premiums may apply if applicable criteria are met.
