Position Summary

The Senior Manager of Transformation & Tools - Inventory Flow serves as the business owner for critical tools and platforms that power the Inventory Flow Optimization team. Operating within a cross-functional “4-in-the-box” model alongside Product, Engineering, and key stakeholders, they define product requirements, shape roadmaps, and drive the development and adoption of tools that directly improve team performance and decision-making.

What you'll do

  • Own the Product Vision for Internal Tools & Enterprise Platforms: Act as the business owner within a cross-functional “4-in-the-box” model, defining requirements, prioritizing features, and shaping roadmaps for tools in partnership with Walmart.

  • Lead the development of in-house tools using AI, SQL, Power BI, and existing Walmart platforms to improve decision-making and reduce manual work.

  • Design and implement scalable processes that streamline workflows, and standardize internal ways of working.

  • Collaborate with Product, Supply Chain, and Merchandising stakeholders across Sam’s Club and Walmart to ensure alignment between business needs and technical execution.

About the team

The Inventory Flow Optimization team bridges Merchandising strategy and Supply Chain execution to enhance inventory movement from supplier to member, focusing on cost, speed, and availability improvements. Within this team, the Transformation & Tools pillar supports enterprise-wide efficiency by developing reusable analytical capabilities and leveraging advanced tools. This group drives measurable gains through data discovery, analytics, and automation, enabling informed decision-making and optimized business strategies. The team values strong project management and business intelligence skills to deliver impactful insights and support continuous improvement across operations.

What you'll bring

  • Advanced analytics & data depth: Hands-on experience with SQL, Power BI / Tableau, and data pipeline design. You can build, not just specify.

Minimum Qualifications

  • Option 1: Bachelor's degree in Business, Engineering, Statistics, Economics, Analytics, Mathematics, Arts, Finance or related field and 4 years' experience in data analysis, data science, statistics, or related field.

  • Option 2: Master's degree in Business, Engineering, Statistics, Economics, Analytics, Mathematics, Computer Science, Information Technology or related field and 2 years' experience in data analysis, data science, statistics, or related field.

  • Option 3: 6 years' experience in data analysis, data science, statistics, or related field. 1 year's supervisory experience.

Preferred Qualifications

  • Data science, data analysis, statistics, or related field, Master’s degree in Business, Computer Science, Engineering, Statistics, Economics, Analytics, Mathematics, Computer Science, Information Technology or related field.

  • Related industry experience (for example, retail, merchandising, healthcare, eCommerce).

  • Successful completion of assessments in data analysis and Business Intelligence tools and scripting languages (for example, SQL, Python, Spark, Scala, R, Power BI, or Tableau).

  • Supervisory experience.
