About the team

The Walmart Global Press Office is a strategic and agile communications team operating in dynamic, high-pressure settings. The team manages media relations, addresses reputational matters, and crafts proactive narratives that support Walmart’s global brand. Reporting to the Director, members act as key spokespersons and frontline operators, shaping conversations on retail’s future and global issues. This team values quick thinking, adaptability, and collaboration to deliver clear, impactful messaging that aligns with enterprise goals and enhances Walmart’s position as a trusted leader worldwide.

Responsibilities

• Develop and implement strategic global communication plans in collaboration with senior leaders and cross-functional teams.
• Advise executives on effective communication methods to support company initiatives and priorities.
• Oversee the creation, review, and distribution of communication materials aligned with global strategies.
• Monitor and evaluate communication effectiveness using established metrics and benchmarking practices.
• Identify and integrate innovative communication approaches to enhance engagement and efficiency.
• Lead and mentor communication team members, fostering professional growth and high performance.
• Ensure compliance with company policies and uphold standards of integrity and ethics.

Requirements

• Extensive experience in developing and executing strategic communication plans aligned with organizational goals.
• Proven ability to counsel senior leaders on effective communication methods and influence cross-functional teams.
• Strong skills in drafting, designing, reviewing, and editing communication materials for global audiences.
• Expertise in evaluating communication effectiveness through metrics, benchmarking, and continuous improvement initiatives.
• Demonstrated leadership in managing teams, providing coaching, mentoring, and fostering a collaborative work environment.
• Ability to integrate innovative communication practices and adapt strategies to evolving business needs.
• Commitment to upholding ethical standards and promoting integrity in all communications.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in Journalism, Communications, Public Relations, or related field and 4 years’ experience in corporate communications, public relations, or relevant area OR 6 years’ experience in corporate communications, public relations, or relevant area.
• 1 year’s supervisory experience or experience leading cross-functional teams.

Preferred qualifications: Experience in politics, journalism, or relevant area, or working in a corporate retail or Fortune 100 environment.

Pay

The annual salary range for this position is $90,000.00 - $180,000.00. Additional compensation includes annual or quarterly performance bonuses and may include stock for certain positions.
