(USA) Member Specialist

About the role

Provides member service, maintains the checkout area, resolves member issues and concerns, and promotes Sam’s Club products and services. Assists members with purchasing decisions, locates merchandise, and supports the use of self-service technology. Processes purchases, returns, refunds, and exchanges according to company policies and procedures for different membership and payment types. Maintains entrance and exit areas, reviews receipts, and helps safeguard Sam’s Club assets by observing and reporting potential criminal activity. Executes emergency response procedures and ensures compliance with company security and safety practices. Assists with training and onboarding of Member Frontline Services associates, including new technology rollouts and continuous learning initiatives.

Responsibilities

• Maintains the checkout area and zones the sales floor.
• Processes member purchases and handles returns, refunds, and exchanges per company policies.
• Assists members with transporting items and locating merchandise.
• Reviews member receipts and acknowledges members to identify needs.
• Arranges and organizes merchandise to maintain a safe and orderly shopping environment.
• Conducts safety sweeps, corrects unsafe situations, and reports hazards to facility management.
• Secures and safeguards Sam’s Club assets by observing and communicating potential criminal activity.
• Completes required documentation, logs, and paperwork.
• Assists with training and mentoring of new and existing associates on company processes, procedures, and technology.
• Supports continuous improvement and process enhancements.
• Identifies shrink and damages and ensures compliance with company policies and standards of ethics and integrity.

Requirements

• Retail experience, including operating front-end equipment such as cash registers.
• Experience working with mobile retail applications.

Pay

The hourly wage range for this position is $19.00 to $27.00. The actual hourly rate will equal or exceed the required minimum wage applicable to the job location. Additional compensation in the form of premiums may be paid in amounts ranging from $0.35 per hour to $3.00 per hour based on schedule, facility, season, or specific work performed. Multiple premiums may apply if applicable criteria are met.
