The team developed Scintilla, a platform providing actionable, customer-centric insights that empower CPGs and Walmart merchants to make informed, data-driven decisions efficiently. Focused on technical strategy, reliability engineering, scalability, and cloud-native architecture, the group builds innovative solutions. Members engage in operational due diligence and continuous improvement, fostering a culture of learning and excellence.
Responsibilities
- Lead the architecture, design, and hands-on development of scalable, cloud-native, AI-powered platforms.
- Personally write production-quality code and implement complex, distributed systems.
- Own execution and architectural integrity of critical services aligned to domain strategy.
- Champion DevOps, CI/CD, reliability, observability, and operational excellence.
- Drive code reviews, incident resolution, and system performance optimization.
- Identify architectural bottlenecks and automate solutions to improve engineering velocity.
- Mentor engineers through technical leadership and engineering best practices.
- Partner with cross-functional teams to align technology decisions with business objectives.
Requirements
- Deep expertise in Java, J2EE, Spring Framework, JVM internals, React, REST APIs, GraphQL, Kafka, and SQL/NoSQL databases.
- Hands-on experience building scalable, resilient, cloud-native platforms and applications.
- Strong foundation in algorithms, data structures, distributed systems, and modern software architecture.
- Expertise across the full software development lifecycle, from design through production operations.
- Proven technical leadership influencing architecture and engineering strategy across organizations.
- Strong mentoring, stakeholder management, and cross-functional collaboration skills.
- Demonstrates ownership, operational excellence, innovation, and an uncompromising focus on quality and customer outcomes.
Qualifications
Minimum Qualifications:
- Option 1: Bachelor's degree in computer science, computer engineering, computer information systems, software engineering, or related area and 6 years’ experience in software engineering or related area.
- Option 2: 8 years’ experience in software engineering or related area.
Preferred Qualifications:
- Master’s degree in computer science, computer engineering, computer information systems, software engineering, or related area and 4 years' experience in software engineering or related area.
- Background in creating inclusive digital experiences, demonstrating knowledge in implementing Web Content Accessibility Guidelines (WCAG) 2.2 AA standards, assistive technologies, and integrating digital accessibility seamlessly.

Pay
Annual salary ranges by location:
- Sunnyvale, California: $169,000.00 - $338,000.00
- Bellevue, Washington: $156,000.00 - $312,000.00
- Bentonville, Arkansas: $130,000.00 - $260,000.00
Additional compensation includes annual or quarterly performance bonuses and stock for certain positions.
